Please review the following information before downloading or running programs distributed by DrLeeWorks.
Our Windows programs are generally self-signed. Windows SmartScreen or security software may therefore show an unknown publisher message or a security warning.
Self-signing does not provide the same trust model as a commercial code-signing certificate. Do not automatically dismiss security warnings: first verify that the file came from the official DrLeeWorks website or its linked official GitHub Releases. When a SHA-256 checksum is provided, compare it with the downloaded file to check its integrity.
Our programs combine our own code with various open-source software components and libraries. Some features may require external programs or runtimes, such as FFmpeg, VLC, or an OCR engine.
Check each program’s detail page or manual for required components and installation instructions. Copyright and license conditions for each open-source component follow the respective project’s license.
We often use Python, Qt, and other open-source libraries to develop features efficiently. Bundling the required libraries makes distribution easier but can make downloads and installations larger than the features alone might suggest.
Most programs are designed to perform specific tasks quickly and simply, with as little installation work as possible.
Whenever possible, download programs through the links provided on the official DrLeeWorks website. We cannot guarantee the authenticity or integrity of files redistributed elsewhere or obtained from unknown sources.
If a release provides a SHA-256 value, compare it with the checksum of your downloaded file to verify file integrity.
Programs packaged with tools such as PyInstaller, or new programs with few users, may trigger warnings from antivirus software or Windows SmartScreen. This does not establish that a warning is a false positive or that a file is safe.
First verify the official distribution source and the provided SHA-256 value. Do not run a file if its source is unclear or its checksum does not match.
Keep separate copies of original files when processing important research data, images, or PDFs. The programs are continually being improved, and unexpected errors may occur with particular files or environments.
Please see each software detail page for its requirements and detailed usage instructions.
